Item 1. Secretary-Treasurer
report:
Minutes from April 21, 2001 meeting was handed to the Executive Board Members along with financial statements for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended June 30, 2001 and current members in good standing list.
Motion to accept the minutes and financial report. Motion second. Motion carried.
Item 2. Trustee Report:
Trustees conducted audit of Union’s book Audit was okay. Trustee would like to see credit cards receipt attached to statements.
Motion by James Shirley to have Secretary-Treasurer empty out storage space by August 31, 2001. Motion second by Bill Chrissakis. Motion carried.
Item 3. Unfinished Business: Jim Shirley gave a brief report on the Utility Workers Union of America fifth region conference held in San Francisco.
Executive Board was advised that the Gas Workers Conference thought to be in July was actually scheduled for October.
Motion by David Brown delegates attending the Gas Workers Conference should and will to present a presentation on the conference. Motion second by Roy Bozarth. Motion
Carried.
Motion by Roy Bozarth to have Secretary-Treasurer buy more ball caps for prizes to be handed out union meeting. Caps will be given as prizes to members attending union meetings. Motion second by Robert Peters. Motion carried.
Executive Board Members had a general discussion on how to bring back members in bad standing and what can we do to gain support. Jim Ocampo suggested that Local 483 hold a convention in Laughlin Nevada. The Union would pay for room only. Suggestion was well received. Jim would provide follow up.
Board Members raised the issue of the Union’s web page. Board Members would like to see arbitrations and grievances on the web site. The National has a software program that would allow arbitrations and grievances filed and won by the Utility Workers Unions to be as reference. All Board members agree that kind of access would be helpful. Some of the members expressed the idea of have a professional web master handled 483’s web site. Motion by Jim Ocampo to have Junious Greene and Robin Downs conduct a fact-finding mission. Motion second by David Brown. Motion carried.
Item 4. Arbitrations and Grievances
Marlene Foster was invited to the Executive Board Meeting to state her case for continuing her arbitration. Ms. Foster did not appear. Motion by Roy Bozarth to drop Marlene Foster arbitration. Motion second by Ron Necessary. Motion carried.
Sommers, Greene, and Wells/Mercado Arbitrations
Motion by David Brown to take the Sommer, Greene, Wells, Mercado, Carvajal arbitrations to the attorney to see if worth pursuing. Motion second by Roy Bozarth. Motion carried.
Item 6. New Business
At the Joint Steering Committee meeting last week Michael Shurley and Claus Langer met with the committee to discuss emergency on call. The Company believes that they can put anyone on emergency on call. The Joint Steering strongly disagree. Joint Steering Committee refused to discuss the issue and walked on the Company.
Mike Shurley wants three months of flexible on the emergency on call. Mike Shurley wants Local 483 to volunteer for emergency on call. The proposal was presented to the Executive Board Members. Motion by Robert Peters instructing President Dennis Zukowski to tell the Company NO to any agreement dealing with emergency on call. Motion second by Bozarth. Motion carried.
David Brown, Secretary-Treasurer gave the Executive Board Member and update of the PAQ study.

Local 132 is in the middle of their election for President. Harold Bailey and Marti Harris are candidates for the office. Until the out come of Local 132 election is decided and a Chairman of the Joint Steering Committee is selected the Company has scaled back JSC meeting.
Overtime issue and shop committee zero out policy shop committee issue.
Call out noticifcation to DZ
Tim Wells position as safety representative for Storage. Election was held among the Executive Board. Junious Greene was elected as the new safety representative for Storage.
Aliso Canyon Union member, G. Martin, went to mechanic school, and passed the training. He submitted a bid for a mechanic. His bid was denied because he didn’t have a test on file. President Dennis Zukowski will investigate.
Although their job duties have change, Base assistants and Clerks were not included in the PAQ study. One solution the Union could pursue is a mass grievance.
Next Executive Board Meeting will be decided late date.
