Item 1.  New Business: Swearing in new Area Officer.  Mike Michalski was sworn in as new Area Officer from Bythe.

Vice-President selection:  Due to the retirement of Newell Collins, nominations for new Vice-President were taken.  The four nominees were Roy Bozarth, Junious Greene, Butch Hamilton, and Tim Wells.  After three votes the Executive Board Members elected Roy Bozarth as the new Vice-President.

Roy Bozarth won Executive Board election to replace Newell Collins, therefore creating a vacancy for Trustee.   Motion by Bill Kimble to name Ron Necessary as Trustee.  Motion second by Jim Shirley.  Motion Carried.

A motion was made by Butch Hamilton.  A maximum of twenty-five thousand should be kept in the checking account.  All monies in excess of twenty-five thousands should be put in some type of account that will earn higher interest.  Motion Second by Roy Bozarth.  Motion carried.

Dennis Zukowski read a letter published in the Santa Barbara Independent titled, “Tragedy Awaits”.  The Executive Board Members reaction was very positive.

Item 2.  Secretary-Treasurer report:  Secretary-treasurer handed out minutes of the last meeting and financial statements for the quarter ending January 31, 2001. Motion to accept Secretary-Treasurer report.  Motion second.  Motion carried.

Item 3. Unfinished Business:

Refunds of the Cope Fund account have been mailed.  Contributor should have checks by now.  Most members received about seventy-eight dollars.

Empowerment: Butch Hamilton gave the Board Members an update on Empowerment training.  Supervisors in Storage are not attending training meetings.

Pipeline group at Valencia Base has a storage problem.  A meeting needs to take place with Gary Roher, Ed Wigman and the Pipeline group to solve the storage problem.

Negotiation: The Joint Steering Committee has not met with the Company in a couple of weeks. Outstanding issues that need resolving are the 85-point retirement plan.  Transmission one-man crew and Station Technician progression.

Safety update: Transmission has had two vehicle accidents.  One of the accidents was a Cal OSHA reportable.

Updated Job Instruction manuals have become a very important safety issue.  Down sizing and new people on the job means job instruction manuals are a critical piece of equipment.  New employees need the manual to learn the stations and systems.  The more experienced operators need manuals for reference.

How are we doing in Storage?  It was pointed out that Storage books are not up-to-date.  At Aliso Canyon job instruction manuals on the equipment are not even on site. Honor Ranch is a model facility; their manuals are on Internet and up-to-date.  Goleta has promised to update their manuals ASAP.

Union representatives should be present at all Safety Committee meetings. At the last Safety meeting two Union representatives present and did not send any in their place.    Management is also not showing up at Safety Committee Meeting.  One supervisor sent a Union member attended the meeting as a representative of management.  Safety Committee meetings should be attended by both Union and management. The Union should address the problem of Union members not attending Safety Meetings.

Motion by Billie Kimble.  The issue, the lack of Union members commitment to Safety meetings should be addressed at our next Executive Board Meeting.  Motion second.  Motion carried.

MUD team:  Dennis Zukowski e-mailed Mike Middleton regarding the MUD Team.  It was brought to Mike Middleton attention. There are no Senior Union Officer members on the MUD team.  MUD Team needs to disappear if Union is not part of the team.      The Union is willing to compromise.

Newberry Spring:  Union members at Newberry Spring have worked eleven weeks without a supervisor.  Employees are quite content, but could use a clerk.  The Executive Board Members feel the employees at Newberry Spring should be recognized for their effort.  A letter should be written to Rudy Weibel and Mike Middleton to bring this to their attention.

An information request has been sent to the Company requesting information on perfect attendance awards.  Awards were handed out on Storage side, but not in Transmission.

Next meeting to be held in San Bernardino in April.

Motion to adjourn.  Motion second.  Motion carried.  Meeting was adjourned at 2:55 P.M.
