Overview
Performs
lead clerical functions and analyzes complex work orders requiring a general
knowledge of accounting and auditing theory and practice and involving the
exercise of independent analysis and judgment.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities

Uses proper accounting principles and
established practices in such matters as the determination and segregation of
capital, reserves, operating and maintenance costs, etc.
·
Reviews all charges for accuracy and
reasonableness.
·
Determines that material changes agree with work
performance reports.
·
Determines that labor hours are properly
segregated by function.
·
Combines and distributes work order direct costs
to related fixed capital accounts by physical property classifications or
expense accounts.
·
Assigns various indirect and general overhead
costs to work orders and prorates such costs on basis of related direct costs.
·
Compiles costs relative to various types of
collectible work performed for other companies.
·
Contacts division or headquarters supervisors to
clarify work performed.
·
Advises division office and field-personnel in
accounting procedures.
·
Provides work direction and conducts on-the-job
training for lower grade clerical employees in all phases of their respective
functions. Organizes and coordinates
work assignments in accordance with available work force.
·
Provides input to Supervisor on the progress and
performance of lower level clerical employees for use in the appraisal process.
·
Performs various other equivalent or lower grade
functions.

in accounting procedures. May be required to make outside contacts such as with
suppliers, banks and contractors.
Minimum Qualifications
Bookkeeping
and accounting procedures experience, working knowledge of storeroom
material-documents and material charging procedures. Ability to operate a 10-key calculator, business computer and
peripheral equipment. Some locations
require a qualified typist. Must pass a
pre-qualification examination.
Desired Qualifications
Accounting
background with experience in General services clerical work.
Physical Demands
Very
Light - Occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers,
and small tools or items weighing up to approximately 10 pounds. Although a sedentary job is defined as one
which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing are often
necessary in carrying out job duties.
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally
and other sedentary criteria are met.
