OF
SAFETY

REMEMBER WHO’S NUMBER
If you
don’t wear
II.
BE QUALIFIED
If you’re
asked to do a job or use a piece of equipment you’re not trained for, speak
up! Your supervisor might not have
known.
III.
RESPECT
MACHINERY
Follow all
procedures – not just Lockout/Tag Out – all of the time. Never go faster than your ability to think
clearly.
IV.
YOUR INITIATIVE
You know
what’s best for you. Trust your
instincts and seek guidance when you need it.
V.
ASK
If there’s
any doubt, ask. If necessary, keep
asking until you get an answer.
OF
SAFETY
VI.
LIFT
CAREFULLY
Those
experts aren’t kidding when they talk about the toll and pain of lifting
injuries. Take your time, do it right
and get help if necessary.
VII.
CLEAN IT UP
Good
housekeeping really does help prevent injuries.
Put away tools, make sure walkways are clear and keep an eye out for
messes.
VIII.
DRESS
APPROPRIATELY
From footwear
to head gear, make sure your work clothes are suitable for the job and in good
condition. Don’t forget to keep hair and
jewelry out of the way.
IX.
YOUR HYGIENE
Remember
not to touch your eyes, face or mouth when your hands or gloves are dirty. Always wash up when the job is done.
X.
POSITIVE ATTITUDE
This might be the most important commandment. Make it your priority to follow the safety
rules. Keep an eye out for your fellow
workers to make sure they’re following the rules, too. One of the best means of preventing accidents
and injuries is to have a positive safety attitude.
